Someone in one of those threads about aimbots are correct. The whole aim training shit doesn't work when you have tons of shooters that work differently to each other. Squad doesn't play like call of duty, ARMA doesn't play like tribes, battlefield doesn't play like unreal, so on and so on. It's pointless to use them.

It depends on the games you play. If you play CS or Valorant definetly a waste of time. COD or BF a waste as well. Just play those games and actively think about improving. Apex, real sims, BRs that you fuck around forever and then get into 1 critical fight. Yeah practice your aim cause it gets rusty.

Yes, complete waste of time. If you want to get better at the game, just play the game instead of learning yourself how to click on things. The game, whatever it is, has more going on than just clicking on things. Map knowledge, gun quirks, recoil, movement mechanics, ... Aim trainers are just cope.

When I hit my skill wall, I decided to sucker up and get Kovaaks and I will say, the improvements can definetly be felt

but holy fucking shit, it's the most mindnumbingly boring thing one can do, not even having music or something in the background can help make it more bearable.

Seriously, don't bother unless you plan to stick with it DAILY, otherwise just play the casual mode/TDM for warm up and only go to ranked until you hit your desired performance. A lot of games just function differently from aim trainers (recoil knowledge, movement, just the servers being online so delay/lag/desync).

Just play the game if you want to get good at the game. The same people who practice in aim trainers are the ones who constantly feel the need to tweak every single setting in order to squeeze more imaginary performance out of themselves when they could instead be playing the game and gradually getting better. Obsessing over how fast you can flick between targets in a target shooting trainer and fretting over your DPI and how big your mousepad is and the size and shape of your crosshair and then you get back to playing the actual game and you still perform exactly the same as before.

Aiming is shooters is kinda similar to singing. If someone doesnโ€™t know the fundamentals of singing and theyโ€™re just way off key like theyโ€™re basically tone deaf, having them sing for 1000 hours is not going to make them sing better. Theyโ€™re basically practicing incorrectly because they donโ€™t understand the fundamentals of diaphragmatic breathing and pitch matching and shit like that. Case in point, someone could play a shooter all their life with their mouse sensitivity set to ultra high, they donโ€™t understand that this makes aiming way harder for most people and no one ever told them to lower their sensitivity. So if they keep practicing like theyโ€™re basically tone normally do, theyโ€™ll continue to practice incorrectly and never improve.

I agree on the aim trainer bit, but stuff like having a good cm/360 kinda makes the difference. DPI switching is a meme, just put wichever DPI you use into a cm/360 calculator and check which ingame sens you have to play, there's no benefit to having say 800 DPI and 40 ingame sens when 1600 DPI and 20 sens are exactly the same. That's just placebo.

As for crosshairs, I use a 3rd party program because the game I play has dogshit scopes that don't actually represent where I'm shooting. That's more of a game to game thing desu, some games figured this shit out early on.

Yeah but not really at the same time. Your raw aim will improve, but not as much as you think, and even then, raw aim isnt the only thing that matters. Something happens when you're locked in and immersed in game, if you're properly warmed up, you will hit a sick flick 90% of the time, your brain sort of handles it naturally and you just kill the guy.
If you really want to improve your aim just go on deathmatch for a while and let loose

Kovaaks is an aim trainer.
They leave it on while they are not at the computer.
They do this to accrue hours on a training app so when people check out their profile they see hundreds of hours in an aim trainer.
This is done so they can pretend they've put in hundreds of hours practising and that's why they're literally aim locking you in game.
They chuck up old clips of them playing as normal on twitch streams.
This does not accurately represent their current cheating, but they nevertheless hope the average retard will buy it.

People who play sports as a hobby often train for it. Really, in most hobbies, people practice in ways other than just performing the specific activity they're into. I think there are recoil routines for some games. But all in all, yes, good summary of the limitations of aim trainers. If people use them with that in mind and don't expect to become pr0 in their game of choice just because they perform well in aim trainer routines, then all is fine. My aim has definitely improved more in the month I've done exercises in Kovaaks than it has in all the years of playing shooters. Focused practice is not a meme, but it's not a panacea either.

It doesn't matter which game you practice in, aiming is aiming.

This is essentially why FPS games have such a huge normalfag userbase, they don't really have to learn anything new when switching games. Just bring your aiming skills into any shooter and pick up where you left off.
And people wonder why fighting games are dying

Fighting games suffer from two problems, they are hard to access with a lot of prerequisite practice required.
But also they become extremely rigid and repetitive at higher ranks, where I wash out. Mid level is kino, high level is metagaming overrehearsed frame counting autism. There's no soul at a certain point.

as a demo main I cant say in good faith landing pipes counts as aim, not in any similar way to traditional hitscan aim. Stickies...it's not 'brainless'...

Train your aim in the actual games so you learn the nuances of enemy player movement and positioning, not a sterile environment where some pills move at steady arbitrary speeds. Your flick aim and acquisition will improve dramatically faster and reach a higher peak by playing the game normally.

Problem with most modern shooters is how most of your time is downtime, waiting in matchmaking, and small rigid game modes with so few targets that you rarely get to aim at anything. It's so detrimental to your ability to ever get into the zone and stress test your skill, it is why "aim trainers" giving you aiming gauntlets have even become a thing. A hollow solution to a man-made problem.

>do this!
>actually, you can't do this, so aim trainers have a point.
Well argued, Anon. In all seriousness, no shooter will give you the room to actually practice specific facets of your aim like an aim trainer. Why are people so opposed to using them for the benefits they confer? Athletes don't just practice their particular sport. They isolate different problems and work on them specifically. They do general exercise. One of the great things in this otherwise rotten world is the concept of transferrable skills. They exist in vidya too because they exist in all physical activities.
