No, some of the levels were pretty fun. It was a chill platformer, but obviously the main gimmick was the level editor which people loved.

That was a very long time ago and every thread wasn't buried in 50 layers of irony

We NEED more games with level editors. Pretty much the only popular game with one that's been released within the past 5 years is Meet Your Maker, but that game sucked ass.

i have no idea what late game looked like on this because i rented the game and didn't play it much, but it seemed fun. it had a playful vibe but it seemed like a regular platformer. i forgot what the core gimmick was with this game other than being a puppet in a tiny world that that to get places.

No, it was pure ludokino. There were levels based off There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men. People sharing costumes for popular characters before the official packs. I loved it. Definitely one of my absolute favourites. Nothing has come close to that level of interconnectedness.

Also the increase on floor layers killed the creativity limits everyone was use to. Everyone had designs and ideas for 4 layers, making it 17 for LBP3 did nothing but allow them to say a bigger number and have the trailer include the zipping where they zoom through a bunch of layers and show off the perspective.

Turning power ups into "characters" and increasing the layers kills what LBP was.
Anonymous No.720051690
it was pure soul that deserves a port for more people to play. personally it's one of the reasons i still have my ps3 hooked up. excellent balance between challenge and enjoyment. shame they ruined it with 2 and 3. they made those games glorified show and tell for the map creator. focusing sorely on a game maker was a bad idea.

There're certain moments in life you can't replicate again, no matter how bad you'd like to. Biggest disappointment of my life.

It was still really fucking cool however.
Loved the game beyond measure, didn't like the sequels as much for some reason, I think I liked the relative simplicity of the first game. LBP1 had a level editor, 2 and beyond started getting into making entire games and stuff, but maybe it was just me that was simple.

I remember what drew me into the game: a custom level where you explore a secret underwater lair (it wasn't underwater you had a jetpack on the whole time to give the immersion though) there was a glowing sword that acted as a key throughout the dungeon, in the end you face a giant dragon with several weak points around its body.

That immediately made me get the first game, and when the second game came out I was all for the new stuff and I found a lot of cool levels, but it started going downhill when everyone was copying that annoying shark gimmick.
