Some type of mouse because that budget doesn't really allow for much internal changes beyond maybe a newer SSD or increased RAM.

A VERY GOOD IDEA!!!!
they are mostly playing mouse keyboard, but it would allow them to try stuff...

>>720052260
mouse they got deathadder essential for getting good grades in school.. its kinda small gift... cuz they cost like 25€ but are enough that getting them some more expensive mouse would not feel like upgrade...

And unfortunately they dont really go in to for building own hardware yet
they are limited by their mother, she does not want them to have full blown gaming PC
I have plan to maybe give them some used MiniPC - like ThinkCentre M75q or dell optiplex micro... where they can learn how to selfhost stuff, host own minecraft server, or own netflix with jelylfin, but they are too young for that yet I guess, probably it would sit in a corner cuz they are savvy enough to get stuff online...

Go on temu and get one of those cheap emulator handhelds with thousands of games. Also get some wireless controllers. You can get decent 8bitdo and gamesir ones for 20 dollars or less on aliexpress. Also on temu get them a t-shirt or something featuring a game they like. What else.. external hard drive? Sd card with sd card reader? Mousemat, usb phone stand, led light strip to decorate their room/computer area

Are there any keyboards where the individual keys have just plain white backlights so I can see what key's I'm typing when my room is dark?

I never understood using . For decimals because it's used for multiplication once you move past an elementary level, since X is extremely commonly used for variables in equations.
Do murcans start using * or something shit?

Stem kit is what I would get them.
If not that, something related to whatever physical sport they're interested in like a skateboard, bike parts, rollerblades, a goal or hoop, rackets, etc

while its nice its kinda a small gift and they were getting similar sets in the past... along with remote controlled toys and whatnot

we already switched to giving them money on birthday/nameday... but for xmas its something bigger and as a gift instead of just money
though we will run out of good ideas and for 15yo it will likely be money rather than wasting it on something he might not need or want

you dont use . for multiplication, you use ⋅ or * or X if going just very basic.

The funny thing is in the euro model the entire reason you guys use , instead of . for decimals is because some mathmatician back in like 1800 something though commoners would be too retarded to see the .
prior to that it was always . not to mention its a decimal POINT not a decimal comma. its more linguistically correct to use . as well for decimals as , is a pause/separator so saying $58,720,69.53 is read more clearly with the , being the natural separator between 100s, 1000s, etc.

But yes, in typed we typically will use * but in written we will use ⋅
