Because it's not GTA levels of handholding that explains the mission in a cutscene, then explains again on a drive over to the mission, all while big text is at the bottom of the screen saying the exact objectives with key words highlighted by color.

It's not bad, it's more Hollow Knight, a game that even when it came out was bland with combat and exploration.

There are some casualfags that can't handle difficulty, but I think a lot of people think it's bad because they bought into le reddit hype for bug sexo. It's a 7/10 game, it's above average, but it has plenty of flaws.

I don't mind hard games with a forgiving checkpoint system.
This is not like that.
I won't buy it. I have a long backlog of games which don't waste my time.
This is 8 bit and 16 bit era game design which just artificially padded the length of the game.

The problem isnt that its hard. The problem is that its tedious. People would be perfeclty ok with hard difficulty if they could try again right away. But people dont enjoy the runbacks, or checkpoints that set you back a lot. Thats when it gets tedious.

I can appreciate a game that forces you to master it. When I was younger, I loved that shit. But now I'm a wageslave, and shit like that simply doesn't jive with my lifestyle. I come back home tired and annoyed, so all I want is to watch or read something. If I wanna play something, it's either something nostalgic or simple, like a gacha game. I simply don't have the energy to suffer through some of Silksong's bullshit. I don't wanna cheat because that devalues the whole experience, especially on the first run, but I'm starting to think that it's either that, or I'll just drop the game eventually.

The bosses are hard, those are the bits I actually want to do and the bits Team Cherry seems intent on keeping me away from.

Obnoxious fucking run backs, benches in stupid places that cost currency to unlock that you don't have because 75% of the enemies don't drop it and what you did have you spent on the last fast travel point or map.

Yeah it wasn't hard to find now, but the point is, the devs are overly obsessed with fucking with you. Now there is a long as fuck runback to the fat fly boss that deal two points of damage, for no reason at all.

I don't want that, you'd just be dedicating yourself to the single best part of each moveset and nothing else. Having drawbacks that you can work around to your advantage is fun and engages you into the game.

This. If the checkpoints were more numerous, if the enemies were less tanky, ESPECIALLY the flying enemies, I would have more fun with it. As it is, it feels like a job playing Silksong. No thanks.

I didnt have a problem with difficulty until like the middle of act 2, regular enemies are too hard, they have complex moves, have good amount of hp, and they are evasive, it would be a slog to fight them so I just run past them. this should not be the case

Idk what Team Cherry was thining with this runback in particular. It's like 4 minutes long and you have to do some pretty precise platforming in between, then if you fuck up and take even one hit of damage, it now only takes 2 hits for the boss to kill you instead of 3, and then even when you beat him you dont get a bench for a while.
But even outside of this one, runbacks are just an ass concept in general. The "good runbacks" end up being you having to dash through like 3 empty rooms which then it's like wtf is the point. That's what the Widow fight was like to me. You could completely run past all enemies and only had to do 2 jumps for the runback which at that point it just felt like a total time waster

I get enemies not just standing around and letting you beat up on them but some enemies are just fucking assholes about it. Some of the flying enemies with ranged attacks really like to stay perfectly outside your reach.

I agree with those other anons, it's more annoying and tedious than difficult.
