I liked his kit more than Verso. I hate it when games do that.

Literally how, he has almost no moves and Verso's style gimmick is extremely similar to Charge except more useful in every single way

"White-haired Man" has a maximum of 8,477,079,000 HP during that fight (Expert, NG+5), so Gustave's final Overcharge dealt more damage than any other attack in E33

Impossible. Gustave's kit is literally unfinished, and revolves around just marking targets and hitting things with his charge arm. He's objectively the most boring and one-dimensional character to play.

If he lived he would have seen right through Verso's treachery and either forced Verso to kill them, or beat Verso's ass and locked him up somewhere since expedition 33 was by far the strongest.

It's so fucking funny because the strongest attack in-game is when Simon enters his third phase which also uses red lightning. Did Gustave and his apprentices find out the canvas cheat codes?

Verso with dualiso basically lets you do whatever the fuck you want. For most of the game it was hard to have anyone replace him unless you really just wanted to try others but you can't really compete with a character who does 3-5 freeaims, 2 attacks and then a 9 ap move. It only gets replacable in act 3 where you get the option of multiple skill moves instead of base attack

The shit Verso is lying about is impossible to see through. Maybe he'd be on his case about the whole "Forgot to tell you Renoir is my dad, teehee!" thing, but nothing suggests he'd drill deeper on the Paintress stuff. He's dismissive when Sophie mentions the Paintress looking sad in the prologue, and he's angry about the Paintress shrine in Stone Wave Cliffs. IMO he'd go along with Verso the entire time without pushing him too hard.

The lumina converter does basically break the rules of the world wide open. It gives painted creations the power to capture chroma and overpower painters. Sure they still need Maelle's painter power to deal the killing blow, but Gustave's technology and Lune's magic (which is like a reverse engineered painting process) are crazy.

It depends on if Old Lumiere would've gone down the same way with him using Maelle as bait. Him doing that could lead to growing suspicion. I think the most interesting aspect of him surviving is if Verso will try to put a wedge between him and Maelle.
