I'm putting too much of myself and my fetishes into my game and I know it's going to turn everybody off but I can't stand to make a game without them

I've been making small games this year that are just recreations of older games and I only need to to do two more and I think I'll feel ready to finally try making my own game, which I feel good about. I hate having a job though because it's a lot harder to devote time to it with work.

Made a new build for my game that adds in a whole lot of cool new things, including an explorable Fortress Fygoon, swappable armor sets, a tutorial area, and more robust character AI. Mac users also have the privilege of being able to play the game using a controller (Windows users will have a horrible time if they attempt this).
Play it here on the official website:
https://fygoon.com/game.html
Or on the official itch.io page:

Fixed a couple collision errors that were fucking up shield blocking.
Just realised the player could block in the middle of an attack while I was testing this. That should be fixed soon.

the sooner you start, the less you'll regret not having started sooner. Making games is fun, specially if you set up short-term goals that drive you towards the long-term ones.

I learned Godot some months ago and it's so much slower compared to Unity. In Unity I can place an object in like 5 seconds. On Godot you have to place it and modify some shit to make it be the object you need. Other than it being a minuscule engine, Unity is superior.

I tried making the tutorial game in this and the guy's walking animations didn't work right, I'm really shit at coding

I miss the actual gamedev threads. Those made with the godot logo only attract engine-warring edgelords and poltards.

Pizza Tower said "chiefly inspired by the Wario Land series" on its steam page and it came out alright. Just don't get TOO big and sign merch deals with companies like Sony, that's what prompted Nintendo to attack Palworld.

you aren't making a game so they can't sue you for thoughtcrimes.
they don't own gameplay concepts, but it can't hurt to see what's been patented and do something else.
