No, but my father was, or rather the equivalent in my country during francoist Spain, a bit more militarized oriented.
He told me how it sucked at first to the fun he had, the friends, the survival and bushcraft skills he learnt. I wasnt able to live that but if todays camps in my area are good, I'll probably sign up my son in the future if he want so he can live the experience.

you know I've had the same thought as a way to get old abandoned games to be alive again. For me personally that applies to SCP SL, specifically older versions. We used to have a quite active playerbase on this site, but over the years it just fell apart. I would give a lot to get that back. I've thought about the idea of having AI replacements for human player interaction, but there simply is no good way to have a genuine experience like back then. I think 1.25-1.5x is good depending on the ascent, but it depends on coordination, again the problem is usually people hoarding food and tools and not using or sharing them properly, as well as how quickly people move on ascent 2+, so it highly depends on how coordinated the lobby is.

i set two games so far with 1.5x and the consensus is it might still be too much, but then again both times were on a very easy seed with reasonably experienced players so it ultimately might depend on multiple conditions and cannot be forced as a bandaid fix for balancing.
i would go with 1.25x and see how it goes. decimal amounts are translated into chance-based extra loot in luggages as far as i know.

I called it bag of holding but I figured it would mostly just function as a backpack so it can only hold 4 items. Its not like you can guarantee getting the bag from chests and statues so its more of a gamble for the next time you get it.

Mystic binos should just highlight all items of interest (luggages, food, shelf shrooms, magic beans, other scouts etc.) and pinpoint them (letting you see them through walls and telling you the exact distance)
Doing it this way would introduce a fun party dynamic where one guy would be the "spotter" that carries around the mystic binos (you could probably call them something like high tech binoculars), and is constantly on the lookout for any useful items around, and if he finds something he can tell the other scouts

I got more evidence to back up this idea, the purple scout is Mr. Sandman, but above his head is mad's name. This isn't the first time names have gotten swapped. This supports the looping idea.

I was when I was much younger. If memory serves I only made it to Tenderfoot before I convinced my dad to let me stop going. I can't remember what excuse I made up, but it was really because I wanted to stay home on monday nights and play videogames instead of going to the meetings. At the time I had no idea what kind of impact that would have, but now that I'm older looking back, I can tell that it greatly disappointed my father since I effectively told him I didn't want to do our father-son bonding anymore.
