Why do you guys hate it? People jerk off every single Metroid game but never Mario Galaxy only SMB3 vs SMW flamewars

do you think just because you put a premise in greentext I'm going to accept it as reality

Boring on rails theme parks with worse movement than 64

I wasn't incredibly fond of the tiny levels. We went from the large sprawling levels of Sunshine, to this. It was disapointing to say the least. I am giving it a fair chance, since I am a big mario fan, so it's fun to have a "new" mario game to experience. But it isn't great, I'm not edging to play it every day.

Maybe because Mario moves like a snail and most of the levels are garbage. Cuckzumi is the greatest hack to ever grace Nintendo in the company's entire history.

I can't imagine being such a faggot that a shitty storybook is enough to ignore how shit the gameplay is in Galaxy.

the movement of mario is bad, but the level design makes up for it.

Like the shitty gimmicks levels which don't build off on concepts and just immediately abandons it?
Like the boring large open zones levels where's there's nothing to actually explore since you can't really interact with anything and you're set on a linear path (which completely defeats the purpose of having open areas to explore)?
Like autoscrolling levels where you can literally stand still and still dodge everything in your path?

>muh movement
No one gives a shit about the movement of the level design is ass

>oh wow, look I'm triple jumping over the wall and sipping half the level! THAT'S EPIC
said no one without brain damage, ever

I'm starting to think it's about /v/ fags not getting gud and being filtered by the Wii mote and nunchuk. It's easily one of the smoothest gameplay experiences. Same reason why Tri underwater combat filtered so many people

I'm starting to think you're retard who grew up with Galaxy and hasn't actually played it recently. The controls isn't the problem, retard. Mario simply lacks movement options while being embarrassing slow and sterile. Mario got his name because of how good the movement is SMB, something the series generally tries to carry with in every game. Why did Galaxy fuck that up when the previous two 3D games did that (somewhat) well?

The game has basically 0 tech, what's there to discuss?

You should replay the game again and spot how many levels introduce a concept or idea before dropping it and never builds on the premise ever again. It's something Galaxy 2 got extremely right, there's no level in that push it to it's full potential, while also not having those boring ass open zone levels that you have to be drugs to actually like.

Just admit you got filtered. Objectively there's nothing wrong with his movements and actually it adds to the experience

the levels were insultingly linear after the massive playgrounds of 64 and sunshine. Literally flying carpet auto scrollers or hallways floating in space. Imagine an entire game based around the FLUDD-less stages in sunshine, only all the difficulty is removed and youd need the reaction time of a 4 year old to ever get hit. Remember how sunshine and 64 had a camera you could maneuver to peer around things or yknow, POSITION THE CAMERA? Galaxy wont let you do that. Why? Because fuck you

But at least its fun to play!!! you might shout, but the powerups suck too. On top of the platforming being incredibly floaty and giving you a free spin move for extended height, you get exciting mushroom powers like...turning into a sspring and making movement more cumbersome, or an extended charge jump to help you reach places you can get to without it. Or maybe you get the fabulous DRILL power, where you can dig through to the other side of the planet(you'll never have a reason to do so outside of the boss) on extremely specific tiles only, Or how about boulder mario, which is fun for a bowling minigame but otherwise entirely worthless?

or how about we stop the platforming momentum entirely and have the player have to point at grab stars to swing him along as slowly as possible?
