It's really disappointing thatt people haven't taken the Skyrim model and run with it further. You'd think that there would be a big market for a newer game that actively courted the same modding market Skyrim has. Designing a game specifically to pick up the slack where Bethesda has dropped it and provide a new landscape for modders.

Be prepared for depression when you do. Enderal starts bleak and only gets worse.

The old Cathedral grass isn't that bad with the complex grass addon. And Smooth's updated pike moveset is also super cool.

You would have to be demented to not mod Skyrim a bit before you play it.

That said I usually keep it pretty vanilla. Or at least stay away from all the wannabe-Souls mods and third person shit. Trying to turn Skyrim into a good action game is just a futile exercise.

I do play with porn mods however, but I keep it pretty basic. Just enough so you can fuck the occasional bandit woman or hot NPC. Shame so many mods are focused on female characters.

Only big modding situation I have set up is Gate To Sovngarde. Cozy and immersive.

I modded this shit once a couple years ago and when I tried recently everything fucking changed. I hate this shit so much it's unreal. Now you need a newer version of the mods, suddenly AE is used instead of the old version I modded, there's new tools for animations and no longer old tools. This game is like 100 years old, why does everything need to change in the 2 or so years since Iast modded the game?
