My take on this is that while we can't apply human concepts to bugs, we also can't ignore the fact that the developers give an effort to humanize these characters, to make them feel more relatable, to make you empathize. This is a very normal and common practice in storytelling when it's about non-humans. In this case it's like she's the bug equivalent of an elf or other long lived being living among mortals. And in these stories it's normal to be a slut because that's just realistic, and realism is desirable in many of these stories. And that doesn't stop people from calling these characters sluts, nor is it actually a bad thing that people do.

I think it's a natural response and we don't need to defend these kinds of characters. Even if the story doesn't make it out to be the case, the reality is that anyone that has multiple partners in their life necessarily cannot subconsciously think of any one of them as special in the same way that someone who is entirely monogamous throughout their whole life can. Just like how dark cannot exist without light. The concept of something being special only exists because commonness does. Therefore, regardless of whether it's a human or a bug, if it's sentient and as intelligent, having multiple relationships weakens its ability to form greater and more meaningful relationships, especially the more relationships it has.

And this is really the issue with the 'immortal outliving loves ones' plotline. It's cliche, and the character was too dumb to foresee that relationships are special, and that maybe you shouldn't just try one out because you got a crush. Especially given that you're immortal and clearly should have the intelligence to guess the future. Having an immortal that starts out with some actual wisdom and avoids relationships because it knows the consequences would be a nice subversion. I think there are a few like that actually, though don't remember any specific names.
