>muh San Andreas
Now this is pure Millennial oldtroon nostalgia revisionism. San Andreas had clunky-ass gameplay that has too much busywork in it that exists solely to pad playtime and not provide meaningful player engagement. Most of the flavor βimmersionβ features were either useless or didn't work right, like car customization where you'd get 2-3 dogshit options that don't do anything, and then you can't do shit with these cars because mission cutscenes despawn them most of the time, especially in racing missions (unlike GTA IV).
The baseline gameplay in GTA 4 is a direct improvement over the previous 3 games, whilst VC and SA play the same as 3, the only difference being the amount of bloat they have.
