I've played all those games, also way of the samurai isn't a beat em up. it has hand to hand combat but the focus is placed almost exclusively on melee. moreover, it's a hybrid between a fighting game and a hack n slash; definitely not a beat em up.

It's still roughly in the same realm even if the focus is more on melee weapons. There's also Uppers if you don't mind jank. Vita has a translation patch while PS4 and PC are an official translation but outside of visuals I don't believe there's much different.

I played that for about an hour, not only is it melee focused but it's also souls slop. like all souls slop the combat system is beyond boring, I only played it because I heard it was a spiritual successor to onimusha. that game sucked so much ass, fucking awful combat.

death by degrees was so fucking bad, using the analog stick to attack was the worst idea they could have implemented. the bouncer was also completely fucked with the press sensitive combos and no way to cancel.
the warriors was really fucking good, I should replay that. sucks rockstar never did anything else in that style. I know about the cancelled spiritual sequel, sucks we never got that.
