modern image generation models eat a shit ton of vram (flux needs 24gb for example), but it seems like video generation has gained a lot of popularity with Wan 2.1/2.2 and it needs a shitton more.
People just fell into the hole of "longer gens, faster outputs, fry dopamine receptors to a crisp" so that they are stuck having to buy these absurdly high end cards just to satisfy their ever growing cooming habits
