The East and West are really divided on this game.

The average person doesn't really have the attention span for or willingness to play games like this anymore, all they want is games where they can sit down for an hour or two and win. That's why moviegames (very linear, always progresses forwards with minimal thought from the player) and live service slop (just play 20 minute rounds or missions, always get rewards and dopamine hits) keep on being made, because it's what normies actually want.

They'll still buy whatever's currently being hyped up, because "popular = must buy", but if they play it for any significant amount of time is a whole other story.

In many of those games, there’s a massive disconnect between stated opinions and actual behavior.
Put simply, despite people saying the game is good, they refuse to spend more time on it. Moreover, 70-80% of players didn’t even finish the game. So, not only do they refuse to replay it for alternate endings, but many don’t even complete it once, despite their stated opinion being positive.
