KnockOut is the funniest map, since people were theorizing it'd put an end to hydra bust. And it kinda did, but it also made lurker contains so much fucking stronger it's insane.

I think the wild card remaining is Roaring Currents, so far we've seen so little official ASL matches on that map that I can't really comment. But I don't exactly watch a lot of ladder games played on that map, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I'd say stop making maps where zerg gets a super easy third base with gas that can't be contested because of ramp chokes, it's shitty that ever since Fighting Spirit almost every map follows the same template but tweaks things, I think the "free natural into obvious third base" route is so overplayed at this point. Good zergs will just ride the muta harass into lurker defense up until they get wiggly bois and autowin, and nothing that T or P can do can reliably beat it.

Zerg Chads seldom attempt proper busts now, and Tossers have gotten pretty good at defending them, to be honest. Nowadays, it's more fake bust or delayed "bust" with spire first. No idea what the map makers are putting up their asses to come up with this crap. The ditch on Knockout helps Z defend against T marine a-moves, regardless.

I highly recommend the group selection video.
First key moment in Soulkey's demise is he picks Barracks over Sharp for some inexplicable reason knowing full well Barracks is more dangerous to him. 2nd Effort makes a brilliant pitch to Barracks promising him he will pick a Zerg and effectively sabotage the group for Soulkey.
Soulkey makes a counter-offer which is refused by Effort.
The key was always to double-Zerg SK's group but there was never enough qualified Zergs to even make that happen.

Okay I've got one question: in that last game, near the end when both Soulkey and Effort were nearly match-for-match equal in supply (was like 41/42 for both), why did Soulkey fly the whole way to Effort's base and start an engagement? Did he have less drones and figured he would be outgunned in the long-run? I'm trying to figure out why he didn't play defensive at that point in the game, I'm missing some detail for sure.

I believe Snow is the best current player. But if the map pool is really zerg favored them maybe Queen/Soma/Effort have better odds.
Best/Snow/Sharp/Soma have been top players for a long time and never won anything, so it would be appropriate for one of them to win. In particular I like Best.
It would also be cool to see Jaedong/Bisu, although that seems unlikely.
Personally I'm rooting for Mini.
