I've played through 1.0 to completion out of spite, which is not the recommended behaviour for a Stalker game, but they've delayed that shit for like several years. They had clearly bad design decisions on release and the core design was bad enough for me to make me not wanna revisit the game ever again, but I've heard they're actively patching it to be something better. I could write like a ten page long essay when I just did it, but now I don't really care. I'd recommend to play it yourself and just install a mod or two whenever you encounter an issue that makes you feel "nah fuck that".
