We could have had Airship Syndicate, who actually has all the people that worked on the original Darksiders games and can't stop making games with the same artstyle and feel.
The same dudes that make Darksiders Genesis - the best-regarded Darksiders game that was packed to the bring with soul and care.

Instead we got Gunfire Games, the rejects of Vergil Games after the split.
The same dudes that looked at all the lore of the previous games and said 'nah tho' and replaced Fury, the canonical mid-range mage, with a rollslop dark souls character.

It's not even that. It's a lack of passion.
It's a lack of colorful art and characters and dialogue. It's a lack of edge coupled with tongue-in-cheek humor.
It's a lack of respect for the series you're working on and void of attention to your craft.

Hell, you can even just see it in the promotional material. They're willing to put love into what's not even within their own game, because they love their game.

They've only, ever, made rollslop. Literally not a single game made by Gunfire did not suffer from this.
Chronos, Remanent, Darksiders 3, Remanent 2 - every one has the defensive option to be to roll, or die and respawn at a checkpoint with minimal consequence.

I hope your hopes comes to fruition, I really and honestly do, because I have that hope as well.
This is the game where all horsemen are supposed to finally come together... Maybe that hope will blossom again, after we get more than a trailer where voicelines of previous games were used.

There are other ways to avoid damage than rolling forward on your right shoulder.
War blocks, Death does a two-handed lunge, Strife backflips and leaves his little shadow-clones.
But if all you've ever made is rolling against enemies that infrequently attack, it doesn't paint the picture that it's every going to change.

It was less censoring, more of a remake. She was the least convinced of the horsemen cause in the comics and was uncertain of her past and future. Actually vulnerable, at least as much as a horseman could be. She was unique in that.
Then she became a cardboard bad bitch that's bitchy and bad and mad about everything and makes it everyone else's problem. Just fucking boring.
