The way frost nova works in pve is that it snares enemies in place, while snared this almost completely changes the AI behavior of the mobs, if the tank isn't next to the snared moves they will automatically attack anything next to them, hopefully not bash the healer or a dps to death, mages are trolls, specially ice spec. Its not really about who caused the wipe. Its about Pirate's attitude in general. In this specific instance, he didn't actually make any big mistakes gameplay wise, unlike the tank and druid who kept ass pulling more mobs.
