What are your hopes for Cyberpunk 2?
Anonymous No.720132403 [Report] >>720132686
Ideally, a Deus Ex globe trotting adventure, several big hub maps and several smaller missions. Its going to be Night City again though, which isn't a bad thing as NC is the best city in gaming (at least with visuals, feel etc.). If they add in lots of stuff to actually do (take on jobs for gangs for turf wars/let us join a gang, races, clubbing, flings, dates) then it will be a good time.

That said, it will be UE5 maybe even 6 and releasing in 2030+ so will need a $3000 GPU to even boot up.

The floor of my expectations is that they carry what they showed in Phatom Liberty forward. Which still won’t be much of a CRPG, but should be a great action adventure game with character customization. I’m not expecting more than that, but I’m willing to be pleasently surprised.

That's what "rpg's" have always been. It started with mass effect 1 and that's what we've always gotten since then. O.g. style baldur's gate 1 rpg's dln't sell, bg3 was a fluke, the lockdowns and the crazy mood helped sell it and made it wildly successful. Just look at all of larian's other games, they didn't sell a quarter of what bg3 sold. Admit it, the crazy covid days made bg3's legacy and it wouldn't have been nearly as "legendary" without them.

None because I already know what they're gonna make. After the broken release they had, and after many other AAA devs shit their pants after seeing BG3 being more of an RPG than expected and whining about what expectations people will hold of them from now on, I have no doubt they completely abandoned the ambition of making the "tabletop in videogame form" as they themselves call it. It's just too much work for them.
So it's gonna be another run-and-gun cause the idea is still that americans only like to shoot gun whether true or not and that's enough to sell. The fact that they moved development to US to make the in-game city more american-like basically confirms that. Hell it might be even more bright and sunny than 2077.
Get ready for another voiced protag spouting retarded quips you wouldn't want to say who's his own character and you can't mold him into different type for roleplaying, pointless dialogue choices, a couple of shitty skill trees, maybe a couple of big quests that have an extra branching path, more characters you can't romance cause they're lesbians lol, and no real replayability.

Ambition is just too risky. They will go the safe boring bland way of doing things.

3rd person

Joinable factions with reputations, quest lines, faction gear and vehicles

Party members/followers you can order like in Mass Effect 1

Open world dungeons unrelated to gigs

Flying cars

Visible cyberware like Adam Jensen robot arms

Either a mute protagonist or at least the same Japanese localization team so I can play it with Japanese voices again

Modding tools

Cute girls

Better atmosphere (more gloomy and dark less saturated and generic)

Better character creator (but this is the most unrealistic thing on the list since it's a westacuck game)

Less railroady intrusive main quest

And uhh... That's it? I'm not asking for much desu. I heard these kurwas are making another city? Chicago or something? Why? Just recycle NC and add more verticality and districts and focus instead on expanding everything else. I want more variety in general from the first game. More weapons, more cars and bikes with better customization, more fashion, more apartments etc.

actual consequence/variance in player choice. picking your character background shouldn't just change up the first few minutes of the game and occasionally give you dialogue options which don't have any real impact. it's shallow, may as well not be a feature at all if they're not going to give it depth.

Just 2077 but more I guess.
I liked 2077 a lot. So what the sequel needs is to start at how good 2077 was with all its updates and DLC and then add features that everyone wanted that didn't make it into 2077.
Spend some time polishing up the kinda barebones wanted system. Add more interesting ways to resolve a lot of side gigs. More interactions with gangs, more ways for your stats to interact and affect your approach to gigs and jobs. The combat doesn't need a lot of extra shit, but maybe a few more of certain weapon types.
I'd also make an entire new set of fixers. Add some more building interior locations, even if they're more like the ones in Dogtown, which are just continuous to the open world. But I WOULD keep as much of the 2077 map as possible to cut down on other work needed. Do a bunch of additions and reskinning so it feels different, but I think keeping the map would let them focus on other things that need work.

The problem is that a lot of RPG developers and incompetent and think that RPG = gimping everything that the player doesn't put points in. It doesn't have to be that way though if you actually know how to develop. Instead of taking away, give new abilities the more you level up a certain skill.
