Is the PSP version an upgrade or am I better off playing my PS1 copy again?

>Need to go into spooky mansion diversion
>You fall into an underground grave site
>You get captured and need to fight
>You finally get to a port but have to train an accountant to woo a lady
Dropped it eventually. Stopping the player constantly for a bunch of inane shit over the main objective is tiring.

I tried to get into BoF III after playing 1 and 2, but the slow pacing of every encounter was jarring, as well as adapting to the change in control scheme fresh off of the SNES games.

It wasn't disinterest in the story either, I just got to the part where young Ryu met up with Nina and escaped the castle dungeons.

Breath of Fire 5 exists, and is a perfect adventure, exactly as long as it must be, and exactly as challenging as you let it be.

Seconding this question.

This game came out in a very different era than the modern internet. The early adopters of it were all BOF fans, and they wanted a jrpg. They didn't get a jrpg. They didn't get a world grounded in fantasy. They didn't even get a Nina+Ryu pairing that the game strongly hinted would be a couple. On top of that the gameplay experience was incredibly frustrating for a lot of player because it wasn't well communicated you were expected to fail and restart.

So the initial response to the game was incredibly negative. It wasn't until much later the game actually got a good reputation when it finally found its audience.

PSP load times are a ballache, you're better off playing the original if you've got it.

Is there the slightest hope in hell of Breath of Fire getting another game? 6 killed the series, but 4 went up on GOG recently, and the Yakuza: Like a Dragon stuff proved Capcom can make money with RPGs.

Honestly I dont have any hope for Capcom to return to any JRPG (including Megaman Battle Network. Which is insane because the repackaged ROMs sold extremely well.) It was a shock to me they're even continuing Monster Hunter Stories. Capcom just doesnt seem like they'll change how they are unlike Sega who just announced they're reviving a bunch of old stuff and let other people make a street fighter and sonic.

Shit I just made myself sad by reminding myself that we will never get a Panzer Dragoon Saga, Skies of Arcadia but especially PHANTASY STAR not online from Sega either...as well as BoF and MMBN and star force...

>spooky mansion
teaching mcneil a lesson marks the end of the prologue and the start of the game's events proper, you moron
>underground grave site
that's wyndia's dungeon you moron
>get captured
that's a tournament arc to earn your freedom
>train an accountant
training beyd is done in like 3 nights
sounds like you're a massive bitch. I bet you also hate the top fishing minigame in rpg history

I've gotten so bored playing Breath of Fire games I can't finish them. Why are they all so slow and generic and dull?
