rabi ribi kinda burns you out of playing other metroidvanias. the story is harebrained SoL stuff but the gameplay is perfect.

I hate the boss balance in DLC. each boss has 2 difficulties and the easy one is essentialy a "skip boss" button and the hard one is bunny extinction hard even on "hard". otherwise it's fine and has some neat stuff to find that helps you in NG+ and boss rushes.

The only bone I have with pick the game is the music speeding up-down depending on your statuses, I fucking hate the soundtrack getting fucked because of it.

I wouldn't compare the two games. Silksong is much closer to Dark Souls than it is to Rabi Ribi. Metroidvania as a label is becoming increasingly elastic at this point.

Man this game would be awesome if it were fully illustrated like Silksong. The weeb game creator who figures that out is going to make billions of dollars. I recommend strongly against fighting her, she will break you, I sooner take on a white Fatalis solo than fighting that demon again.

That's why I hate playing bullethells. Instead of cool fights where you actually fight cool enemies you spend literally 95% of your time dodging some abstract art-less dots, not even shooting anything.
I loved Rabi Ribi because base game boss fights are still fun.

I can't play it because the flickering effects in it somehow manage to burn in on my screen. As in, the part of the screen where those effects appear in the game keep flickering for a good half hour after I close the game. I have no idea how that's even possible.

RR yuri and story turned out to be insufferable but the game is/was really good before the weird post release updates that make it really confusing to replay. Great OST as well reminded me of soundtemp stuff from ragnarok
