i would've liked to see them use the 8 years of development time to come up with loot tables for enemies so they could have parity with a 20 year old game

I would have taken a honest look at what were the flaws of Hollow Knight (bad upgrades, poor QoL, stretched out too long compared to amount of content) and made a real effort to fix all of them. I would have NOT simply assumed that my first try was perfect and all I needed to do was replicate it (but double the health and damage of every enemy to make it more "hardcore"), despite my annoying, shitty fans claiming otherwise.

All the gripes I had with hollow knight got fixed though.
My only issue with silksong are the 2 heart contact damage on everything and the runback to a couple of the bosses. It's the closest to a 9/10 game I've played in years.

You only really need it in new areas, and you have extra slots for whatever else you need.

It's just more hollow knight, I was expecting something akin to jump from ds3 to elden ring or super castlevania IV to SOTN. You need to make stuff different when it comes to 2d games, most series nowadays don't get 3rd installment for a reason.

I just want them to fix the bug with bosses disappearing. Some bosses have a thing where they leave the screen like lava beastfly or disgraced chef in sinners and they don't come back.

Managed to but out both only it's worse in sinners road because Im stuck in the place and have to quit out. Is there somewhere you can report glitches like this to team cherry? Unless they're already aware.

It's always when I'm on a good run too. I beat lava beastfly anyhow but the glitch out on disgraced chef is irritating almost beat it

Add an auto-play and auto-battle mechanic. It's so fucking tiring having to press buttons all the time. I just want to relax or eat something while the game plays.

I genuinely think the losing 2 lives on some hits part was a bad decision. Those lives are there for a reason and the game should be balanced around having just 5 and losing 1 with each hit (and however many you end up with) instead of fucking you over by sometimes losing 2.

I would make Hornet say ”Git Gud” if you die more than three times to a boss.
If you die more than five times Sherma dies and Hornet gets replaced with Zote.

Zote is the easy mode since he's delusional and thinks he wins even when he fails.
Have him do double damage, bounce off of spikes, etc and at the end it's just him talking bullshit in the town and Hornet just showing up.

It's pretty close to perfect in my eyes, but I would've liked to have seen a dynamic HUD like in Ori where it disappears when you're not in combat. You only get the option to turn it off completely instead.

That literally doesn't affect anythuing I said. The player should always see where he is on a map. There should be no cost attached to that, inclduing opportunity cost. It should just be geiven for free. It's fucking retarded to even debate this, it's so obvious. Making people waste a slot for that is like making people waste a slot for the ability to rebind their controls or change the resolution. It's absolutely inexcusably retarded tor even THINK that's okay. They had seven fucking years to fix this based on feedback from Hollow Knight, and not one person in that gaggle of shit-eating subhumans thought how stupid it is.

If anything the first HK demands more out of you, while SS occasionally punishes you harshly for fucking up.

Anyone noticed that only devs with respect can get away with making hard games? If it’s a dev team that isn’t respected, the entire conversation is dominated by “outdated game design” “too much friction” but if it’s FROM or Team Cherry, you just need to git gud and the game is fine as it is
