The ads were all like those really shitty mobile games, where they trick you into thinking it's one thing, then you download it, and it's something else. Most of marvels characters aren't as absurdly OP as DC's characters (sans Batman) so it's easier to make a game with challenge and actual gameplay with characters like Luke Cage or Spider-Man than it is with characters like Green Lantern, Flash or Spider-Man.

It's easier to make a video game where Spiderman fights crime because he can spin webs and is super athletic, but because he's not bulletproof, it's easier to make gameplay with actual challenge where it's possible to lose.

As opposed to Superman, who can balance planets on his fingertips, destroy galaxies by sneezing, walk on the surface of the sun, take nuclear weapons to the face and live, time travel by reversing the worlds orbit without so much as breaking a sweat, and never ever misuses his powers so you can't even have the fun of a destructible GTA style superhero sandbox like The Hulk.

DC's problem is being a follower rather than a leader. They are chasing after Marvel instead of blazing their own trail. And they also rush to try to copy it when game development is already long so they would be too late with the trend chasing even if they did it. I think it says a lot of DC that the best showing they had was a Lego Batman game because it's copying the Arkham style.

Again it all comes down to the fact it's easier to make a game about Marvel's most popular characters than it is to make games about any of DC's most popular characters (sans Batman). Because in a marvel game you don't need the contrived plot device of nanite blood pills to justify how Mr Fantastic can fight Magneto. The only one of these that's going to be a hit is Spiderman 3, and it's still going to continue the game franchise's downward trajectory.
