I have reinstalled and uninstalled Skyrim so many fucking times that I physically cringe just thinking about it. Sometimes I install it, get it modded out, then quit 20 minutes in. Sometimes I install it, get it modded out, and play hundreds of hours on one file until it gets corrupted. But never again. I physically can not imagine myself going to the same places and doing the same quests every single time.

Already am. Hoping the modders get caught up soon, there's no really big stuff out yet. Also fuck em for using ten different gay modloaders in 3 different locations instead of just dumping the .esps and everything into the data folder like before. Half the time I just rip the files out of their "loader required" shit and put it where it's supposed to be.

I have never understood putting this much effort into modding Skyrim

You're gonna spend a dozen hours or more doing it. How much time are you gonna spend playing it? The pretty graphics are occasional "damn that looks good" moments (if it doesn't lag or crash, which it totally will). But you can't keep staring at graphics for hours, you actually want to do stuff in game. Without major changes to gameplay it's still the same vanilla quests and story you already know. The combat is still dogshit - you can mod it to be a shitty copy of Soulslike, and it will still be less fun than games designed with actual fun combat. You could go the lewd mod route but again, it's hot for the first hour, and you'll spend ten times that setting it up. You could get a modpack, butit'll again take a dozen hours to get into it and learn WTF the primadonna modlist maker shoved in there, half of which you won't like (plus it will crash).

Sometimes overhaul packs like requiem or faggotrim mod maker #34 can reignite the spark a bit because the combat and progression becomes fun again. But that's still just a fleeting attempt at recapturing of something you've already done a million times. Move on anon, don't get stuck in the past.

I don't know anyone that constantly plays skyrim. Personally i come back every 4 - 5 years, then the game is pretty fresh and the mods add new stuff to do.
