Companies used to invest in their workers, now they lay them off in cycles to make the quarterly report look better.
People went to college and bought houses with the money they earned bagging groceries, now they work two full-time jobs to barely make rent.
Even the moguls used to build public libraries for the betterment of all. Now they have more in common with the Al Sauds and they see you as livestock, or if you don't make yourself useful, vermin.
Every facet of the media is galvanized to make you outraged, with little thought given to what constant anger does to one's values and principles. They wish they were competent enough to brainwash you into being their slaves but they can't even make you care anymore.
We are a cargo cult walking in the footsteps of giants. Our culture is forgotten. The rest of the world looks on in a mix of fear, resentment, and pity as our government swaps every four years from one cabal of child-molesting crooks to another, each more unhinged than the last.
Enjoy vidya while it lasts, and keep a gun handy for when the power goes out so you can spare yourself from what's coming. I know I will. I'm not savvy enough to be a survivor and I'm not mean enough to be a marauder.
