The Best Metroid game
Yeah this is clearly the best Metroid game of all time, just reached Dark Samus for the first time. The pacing is so amazing, even though i'm backtracking the world is so compelling it's not boring and the high level difficulty keeps it tense and makes me want to push through it so i can beat it. It's addicting as hell, the level design is excellent. Just a perfect game

Prime 2 really is incredible.
Shame about 3.

there's nothing wrong with prime 3 if you're someone who enjoys metroid 2, fusion, zero mission, samus returns and dread

It's my personal favorite but Super Metroid is better.

Prime 3 is great and super underrated.

3 felt weaker, I'll give you that. Felt pretty shallow and the lack of beam selection like the previous Primes felt pigeon-holey.

That said, I still had a blast with it. Tying in the Aurora units as a direct mirror to Mother Brain and bringing that in for the final fight was hype as shit.

Exactly. People forget how immersive the atmosphere in Prime 3 was. Skytown alone stomps on half of the environments from other Metroid games. And aiming with the Wii remote? Peak comfy. You actually feel like you're the one pulling off the screw attack mid-air instead of just pressing a jump button. The hate just comes from people not wanting to move past the GameCube controller.

I also find myself replaying 2 much more than the others. I can't explain why but it's a definite favorite of mine.

skytown felt really samey to me everywhere except the shoehorned metroid laboratory section. I had to constantly check my map lest I find out that i've been going in the opposite direction to where I wanted to

Prime 3's upgrades were also kind of lame. Sure, P2 had the lousy seeker missiles, but P3 has the grapple lasso (no you can't use it to cross pits, we just need an excuse for you to shake the nunchuck) and the hazard shields.

Hypermode is also broken and kills everything easily for [mostly] no cost. Despite this however, I remember the phazon shots feeling really weak everytime I used them. Just the standard beam makes the satisfying *pew pew pew* noise and you can see it scorch the ground when it misses, but hypermode looks like you are spewing a bunch of blue party streamers that somehow kills everything it touches.

Pirate homeworld was really good though, and the final dark samus theme is great.

Why does the dark world filter you retards so much?
