Nobody gets shit for asking for tips. They get shit for demanding the game be casualized so they can play it without improving.

Crazy how big the "community" for Hollow Knight ended up getting. It handily escaped "fun indie game" territory and started collecting a ton of people who just didn't play the game, or, they played the original HK to a point of frustration and failure, engaged with the meme economy, forgot about it, and just assumed they enjoyed their time with the game as a result. Then SS drops and all those people are reminded that no, there's actually a game here. This phenomenon should be studied.

I don't have an opinion about silksong specifically but I've noticed a discourse problem where literally NOTHING can ever be so hard or unfair that it won't get the majority of posters virtue signalling with "skill issue" or "gid gud". As long as there are people who have this desire for perceived social credit points, then it's impossible to address problems or improve anything because any criticism will get drowned out

not to say some things can't genuinely be a skill issue, but holy shit there are so many people who would jump in front of a fucking train to stop you from discussing a problem if you imply it might be the system/game/environment causing it rather than the individual

Your experience isn't the universal one, and neither is theirs. What you will find completely unfair and bullshit, someone else will first try without thinking about it. That's just the way it goes. I fucking hate the muckroach enemies (those dogs in Sinner's Road) but I've seen people say that have no trouble with them. Does that mean everyone is defending the balance of those enemies? No, and it's silly to imagine that is the case.

That being said, the one criticism I've seen that I agree with is that bosses should drop rosaries. That's just a fundamental part of good game design to give you a boost in resources to sweeten that feeling of overcoming the challenge.

I have never seen people asking for tips or what they are doing wrong with their playstyle. It has only every been asking for nerfs, mad that most attacks do 2 damage, mad that they have to pay for benches in most areas. No one asks if they should be using certain tools, or how to be moving in combat, or how to deal with certain enemies in the area. So unless you want to tell us exactly what is the problem, we don't have solutions on how to fix it for you. Otherwise, stop fucking whining and stop playing if the game isn't your cup of tea.

Ive been saying this for years, but apparently when dark souls does it, it super cool and awesome. souls slop just gets a pass, idk why. I have given up trying to reason with these people since ds2.
your build and equipment don't matter if you are not taking damage and just putting the boss health bar on a timer. it takes away all the fun of the decision making and the rpg, IMO.its muh souls game, 10/10 masterpiece ooga booga
