Video games can't be saved because they're worse then dead, they're mainstream. There's no crash coming to reset the market, there's no pressure to improvise because even a shitty game only has to appeal to a small percentage of the market to make a profit.
You're best bet is to just ignore any game made by a major publisher and play indie and retro games instead.

Because he didn't work on video games. He worked on manga, and during his time in that position he was probably involved with a lot of the early manga censorship debacles, like the infamous Yu Yu Hakusho demon murder slumber party page, or the yaoi / yuri pages in Naruto, all of which got censored in the English release.
The second and third lines actually are Horii, but those don't make much sense either since Dragon Quest started doing Type A/B in the Japanese only titles, DQX and DQ Walk.

Torishima is very obviously talking about his own experiences- which are what I described. He doesn't work on video games, he works on manga and with anime production companies and international distributors for manga.
It's also pretty funny how hard people are for Torishima now considering he used to piss people off a lot back in the day, like his public statements on making Dragon Ball a "work without substance", or outright stating that the vast majority of shounen jump's output from inception is complete garbage, and that he saved several works by taking influence from shoujo.
