How the fuck could you mix all of these genres together?

these are in opposition to each other, one is about big fields with nothing while the other is looping corridors and halls. My best idea is an open field with multiple metroidvania zones inside it that you can tackle at any order (and those zones are made of multiple areas that need items to access them in multiple orders with some backtracking)
