i have many reasons to believe that work on survive was started with kojima at the helm and that was in the original design document. the problem is the execution of the idea without kojima's controlled zaniness, not the idea itself.

It should never be lived down that people actually thought that the game included a "secret message" against Konami by a "dev named Mosquito," which just exposed all the people who didn't actually play MGSV and were just bullshitting for the sake of bullshitting.

When Survive was announced people laughed at it and that's it, barely anyone talked about it even on release save for Yongyea, a literally who Youtuber that only talked about this franchise.
What happens is that you MGS fags on /v/ are the most unstable bunch of schizophrenics on 4chan.
You got completely obsessed with the story of a bunch of poorly written games and saw Kojima as a father figure.
Then you received the worst possible betrayal, one that traumatized you for life: a Metal Gear that wasn't 90% cutscenes. This made you go insane, it made you spend a whole decade repeating the same posts over and over, it made you try to support a game nobody asked for out of spite, and then got even more mad when that game flopped.
You fags went insane out of obsession for a narrative droven stealth franchise, despite the franchise's writing being capeshit tier slop and the gameplay being so poorly designed no stealth game was influenced by Metal Gear despite its sales.

I guess in hindsight, it makes sense you acted like a bunch of schizos over MGSV and Survive, you need to be severely mentally ill to slurp up this low effort shitpost of a franchise.
