nah, here is the honest non /v/ breakdown from someone who actually played both games to completion
>it starts easy, like just as easy as HK
>first area is just as easy as the first area as HK
>the first few bosses id argue all have counterparts in HK in terms of challenge
HERE IS WHERE THE GAME FILTERS RETARDS AND CAUSES THE SEETHE
>you can find the path to hunters march early on, the enemies here do 2 damage, are fast, and tricky for noobs, id say its comparable to mantis village, maybe a tad harder?
>the rest of chapter 1 isnt as hard as HK beyond >that, the game obviously respects your intelligence to bypass hunters march if you cant handle it, kind of like DS1s catacombs
>Chapter 2, however, is about as hard as later game HK, like, the final 3rd pre DLC stuff. >Definately ramps up platforming and enemy encounters, most do 2 damage now.
>chapter 3 is like postgame HK, or the DLC stuff
basically id argue silksong gets to the halfway point of HK quickly, and grows from there. So its harder than HK I guess but not by much
>BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 2 DAMAGE?! THATS SO HARD
But the healing in silksong is 10x better
you heal 3HP in the time the vessel healed 1.5HP,
you heal 3HP in one go, as opposed to just 1 of HK
you can heal mid air, instead of having to stand on the ground
it only takes 9 hits to charge up a full 3HP heal, this is reduced by each silk regen upgrade by 1, the first of which is in the first areas of the game so it only takes about 1-2 hours before you have 8 hits to heal
Basically since healing is so much better, you can offset the 2 hp damage much more easily.
People will bitch about muh 2 hp damage attacks but will ignore this fact
the game isnt that hard.
