It's time to admit that Japan can no longer compete with China, they lost the culture war.
They used to dominate the gacha market but nowadays if you ask someone in the street about a gacha they will answer Genshin or Honkai. Maybe some weirdo will mention Dokkan or Umamusume but Hoyo completely killed any relevance Japanese gacha had outside of Japan.

Their local market is also getting smaller because they don't make kids while the Chinese are getting richer and can afford more games. Very soon people will start calling "soulslike" wukonglike.
China is also manufacturing their own consoles and seeing how Japan lost back to back I doubt Sony and Nintendo will be able to survive that. Sony lost a large chunk of their fanbase and Switch 2 is doing very badly.

The best that can happen to them is honestly if they are bought by Tencent. And I'm not even talking about Chinese anime and comics that are also the topping the charts worldwide.
This is what happens if you recycle the same product every year.

China is currently in their 70's japan phase, they're insanely productive but they still haven't really found their soul, a lot of their work is derrivative and lacks imagination, the heavy censorship laws over there isn't helping either. They might make some kino in 10-30 years, but they're still in their "copycat" era

I'm not a little kid, I don't give a fuck about putting X, Y or Z on a pedestal and glazing them for no reason.
I'll just grab stuff I enjoy, I don't care who makes it as long as it's enjoyable.

Why are the chinks so insecure that they need to make these kinds of posts? Same goes for gooks. You're making it a competition when you're the only ones that care about this "competition." It's like a child saying "we're racing to X go" when you're already pretty much there just to say "SEE I WON I'M THE BEST" it's just childish and sad.
To put it simply; You need to be over 18 to post here.

The fact they can put out something with as much soul as early-game zenless zone zero says a lot about how fast they're gonna catch up though.
If they didn't run away from those themes in favor of not-china and muh shifu, and made an actual RPG out of that sort of vibe, it'd hit fucking hard as long as it played even middling well.

That loading screen stuff really turned me off to the point I didn't even install the game to try it out but I was jamming to the music in the trailers before it came out and I love the animation work.
Kinda regret it sometimes since it seems cool but whatever, I'm enjoying Genshin.

Is this some kind of win? The ability for 80 trillion ants to dig a bigger hole than me doesn't make them superior

China has never made a good game.
Gachaslop aren't even video games, let alone good ones.

It's sad, but I've had more fun playing gacha recently than any jrpg in the past 15 years. They not only have more interesting stories but are also technically more advanced and look visually better. What the fuck happened? Japan was supposed to be the vidya wonderland pushing the limits, but their devs are just eternally stuck in the 00s.

Reminder that they also intentionally removed PokePoke's JP server since it would constantly be Number 1 and chinkshit wouldn't be able to compete. Even the one's they've posted to cope all don't have the JP server for PokePoke. They basically did a "terms and conditions apply" with the chart
>WE'RE NUMBER 1*
*After PokePoke JP's server meaning at best we can only ever be number 2

Wukong would be referred to as a decent enough game here if the shilling like this didn't exist. I liked it. But I'm not sure if it can be considered revolutionary either. Genshit impact is just trash.

Too bad China are just focused on competing with Japan specifically instead of making original games on the other hand. Cashing in on the part of trying to be better than From Software will wear out it's welcome inevitably.

Reminder Mihoyo was dethroned by Umamusume, still gets it's ass kicked by FGO on ocassion and Pokemon TCG which is new. It's ironic considering there is a Chinese buff on the charts as well.

This is the biggest problem. Japan's games weren't made with the purpose of competing or out doing someone. They were made to be fun first. With China their games are focused on competing but they don't do anything to really have an identity of their own. They just brute force it with their excessive numbers.
Take Wukong, it's not a bad game by any means but it's paraded around as the greatest game ever and a crazy high seller but when a grand majority of those sales are Chinese it's not really representative of your own claims especially when they do something like
>WUKONG SOLD MILLIONS WHY DIDN'T JAPAN'S GAMES DO THE SAME
But when you look at it by country, Wukong sold averagely in Japan. The same is happening with gacha, when most of the money is coming from China itself can you really call that internationally popular? It's an obsession with numbers and charts, not generating genuine interest.

Yeah, post WW2 "Made in Japan" used to be associated with "cheapily made, bootleg shit", then when the 80's and 90's rolled around, people started realizing Japan had gotten really good at ripping the west off, in fact they were doing things better, that's when the whole "Japanese products is gonna dominate the world!" fearmongering started, which was a huge influence on the Cyberpunk genre and aesthetic
