There are missables, like skipping Moore by doing the 5 fleas quest and moving with them.
That's weird because in Act 3, you can find some of the items that belonged to merchants that died in the world, so there are some stuff done to not have missables, yet there are some. And farming is probably technically worse in act 3.

My main 2 damage gripe is contact damage on staggered enemies. That's just gay and lame.

I changed to whatever crest I found, except Beast and Witch.
I believe you're suppose to properly try them out, not just stick to one which you're comfortable because you're so use to it.
Expand your horizons, it's only hard in the short term and it feel good to have options once you've learned multiple ones.
Don't worry, you're not going to lose the old muscle memory by practicing new crests, it comes back fast.

The version from the forge daughter and architect are shots that lob forward at a decent speed. The damage it does is pretty good and you get a lot of ammo. I haven't gotten the railgun version and do not feel like starting up a completely new save to check how much damage it does, but it's an instant line in front of Hornet so it's much better at hitting enemies at least. I would assume it does more damage as well.

I just can't bring myself to care about religion and bells the same way I did for the long dead kingdom of Hallownest. Having a LOT of very diverse NPCs is also a detriment. As is Hornet talking, the dialogue quality seriously suffers.
For what it's worth, I don't mind the infection being replaced with cursed/malicious silk, even if I do find it to be a weaker concept.

I feel like I can’t really fully participate in these threads because I don’t want too many spoilers and everybody’s ahead of me (fuck having a job and responsibilities) but I will post a rant anyway:

Holy fuck, why is the run back to the gauntlet/boss in Bilewater so fucking LONG? I’ve found one bench in the whole fucking zone (next to the tram station) and it’s like a 10 minute climb to get back to the boss. The only other bench I’ve even seen was an obvious fake, and I haven’t seen a hint of anything closer by. I feel like I’ve gotta be missing something, the gauntlet isn’t too bad but if you ever fall in the water you might as well quit on the spot, so there’s gotta be either an item that helps or a closer bench because like 4 attempts on this fight took me almost an hour.

Oh yeah and to make the zone even worse if you pick up the crying baby you get to listen to it forever, and if you go take the crying baby to the obvious owner you get fucked into another gay side quest in the meantime

This whole zone seems designed to frustrate people more than anything in Hollow Knight ever did. Next you’ll tell me that the Bilewater boss doesn’t even unlock anything I can use right now.
