The entire reason I checked out BL1 was because iirc the game came out without DRM and Randy said something about how he gives no shit because it just gives him more advertising (and you need an account for online play anyway).

Sure it was, other than that it nerfed all the things I liked about BL1, and by the time I finished every DLC I simply got tired of it.

BL3 looked like just more of BL2, and I was tired of that, plus it got bad reviews for the writing (if it is even possible to write it worse than BL2), so I skipped it.
BL4 looks like more of the same garbage but now on UE5, so not only do I have no reason to play it, my machine probably can't handle it anyway (and all the while it looks the same as BL2 did).

Call me when they go back to the mad max aesthetic instead of the shiny scifi gadgets everywhere.

No, I got tired of it long before that, but kept going for completeness' sake. It was the last DLC (the tiny tina one) which I kept postponing for years because I was no longer interested, only really tried it because I got a new videocard to play the game with. What killed the game for me was that even with a 10 year later card, it still did not run at full 60fps everywhere.

I still haven't played that last mission they added for free to tie the game to BL3.

I was playing the Son of Crawmerax level, and the hub world with the large buildings couldn't render at anything over 40-50fps. Which is about the same fps I got everywhere else with my HD6950 back in 2012.
made me realize the game had garbage optimization and is not worth any further attention. It's probably why I did not bother playing the last Lillith dlc.
