I think x1.5 is very fair for 8 player lobbies. I've seen some players complain that it can make things a bit too easy but I think it's just that we've become too accustomed to the scarcity of big lobbies.

I think Ascent 3/4 is a good balance for new and veteran players. My only problem with Ascent 4 is that the ending can be a bit too anticlimactic if there is no flare left, especially if the reason the flare was lost is because of a glitch.

There are 3 scenarios where you should not pull up your teammate:
- Ledge is above 270 degrees, you'll actually pull them down instead and send them to death. Happens often with fungus platform.
- Rope to platform, you'll instantly drain all their stamina, don't touch them unless they're already hanging from edge.
- Tiny hole, won't let them pass, will drain everything and you'll prevent them from moving around.

to reach the peak? best way for a skilled player to do that is to hold onto scout effigies and reach the top with nobody holding them back, then use and revive everyone
for the most amount of fun? play together and use bandages/medkits to help those who have fallen
it is only a good idea to leave them behind if they have collapsed and the resource cost (leaving things behind, your green bar) is too great compared to reviving them with just 2 ticks of curse later

Having said that, there really should be visual indicators of a players stamina, eg
- Hurt: Scout is red, scratched up, walks with a limp
- Hungry: Scout facial expressions when food is shown in front of them, drool
- Poison: Purple skin
- Weight: Hunched over animation, sweat on face
- Freezing: Bluish skin, icicles on face/body
- Heat: Heavy sweating, red skin

Right now the only one I can think off that has a visual indicator are the cactus pricks (and I guess you can see damage being taken)

I think the only way to deal with starvation is taking an entirely different route from everyone else, so you don't have to share resources. But if you do that, they you'll either get to the campfire too soon or too late, meaning that either you or everyone else will starve at the campfire.
I think it'd be worthwhile if we added this to the "big lobby mod list", assuming it still works

It'd be nice if the item multiplier mod had an option for it to only spawn food. That way people aren't running around with 20 chain launchers but there can still be enough food to sustain a big lobby.

That's a normal bug in big lobbies. Something is mangling the player IDs and breaks it causing players to spazz, get different names, get different stamina bars on reconnect, get different slots at the winning screen. I strongly suspect it's whenever hosts use Peaker + Peak Unlimited, you're only supposed to use one or the other not both at the same time.

Just stick to vanilla or 8 player lobbies. In vanilla you're never going to have that problem because it's the mod that's causing it, and in 8 player lobbies it's way easier to manage because at most you'll see one guy spazzing out and can easily fix it by restarting the game.
