Well X first originally released in the Wii U which on its own was pretty bad for creating a large fanbase.
Then XDE came out at the very end of the Switch 1's lifespan, just like a week before the Switch 2 got revealed. Because of that, I imagine a bunch of people decied to not get it right away to see if a Switch 2 version or patch would get announced, which still hasn't happened. It never even showed up in a Direct because Nintendo hosted zero of them between announcement and release.

Pneuma is Mythra at full power.
Addam was going to awaken Pneuma's core crystal but was afraid of her power which resulted in Mythra, a powered down version.
After what happened in Torna, Mythra out of guilt powered herself down even further resulting in Pyra.
They aren't being combined together to make Pneuma. Pyra was always a part of Mythra. Mythra was always Pneuma.
