Didn't go as quickly as I had perhaps assumed, but before long I learned how to pretty reliably no-hit her. Really fun fight for what it is.

Alright, I've written the entire story of Silksong. Don't open if you don't want to be spoiled.

Before Pharloom came to be, there were instead various kingdoms in the land that lived together in relative harmony.
Then one day a silken god appeared in the middle of them all and decides that she wants to create a kingdom of her own.
She uses her godly influence to attract followers from existing kingdoms, but a kingdom's affairs cannot be handled by just one person.
And so she uplifts simple critters into thinking beings: the Weavers. They are beings that have the ability to create and manipulate silk.
She also creates two daughters from her own silk; a prototype that is stored safely away where no one can see her and Lace.

Many eons pass and the desire of control of the silken god never slows down. Kingdoms are supplanted and citizens are enslaved and experimented upon.
The Weavers are not happy with the current state of affairs and make plans to escape her influence. Unfortunately, word of their dissent spreads.
The silken god declares them enemies of her empire and while some escape, most are imprisoned or otherwise exterminated.
Before their terminal end, however, they manage to deal a fatal blow to her reign: their final act manages to put her to eternal sleep.

But sleep is not the end. The Weavers couldn't have known, but the silken god is capable of manipulating her silken threads even while sleeping.
These same threads have infested in almost every inch of the her kingdom, including the insides of her subjects to lengthen their lives.
The kingdom of Pharloom falls to ruin as she manipulates her subjects to seek out those who can undo the spell of sleep put upon her.
All she requires is a being that is both capable of manipulating silk, while also capable of being manipulated themselves: a half-breed.

And so, during the many years that pass, she discovers and captures all Weaver descendants. Including eventually Hornet herself.
Hornet manages to escape through the help of subjects who were experimented ipon in the past (those fireflies are the result of bugs whose souls have been extracted and modified).
She makes her way to the top of the kingdom with the help of imprisoned Weavers and confronts the silken god herself; either absorbing her (and unwittingly becoming her) or failing to imprison her (cursed ending).
Or, she can choose to ask for help from those closest to the one thing that can diminish even gods: the void-worshipping snail shamans.

With their help, she nearly imprisoned both herself and the silken god in void were it not for Lace's timely intervention that send herself with her mother into void herself.
To protect her daughter, the silken god uses all of her power to redirect the impending void through her silken strings into Pharloom.
The void does not discriminate as it is chaos itself. The result being that it takes over and destroys anything it reaches.

The only thing that can counteract void, is an ethereal flower: the Everbloom.
To obtain one, Hornet uses the power of memories of rulers of the kingdoms in Pharloom's past to delve into her own memories.
Through this act, she manages to obtain the flower, which she uses to dive into void and save the silken god's daughter, so the silken god herself finally dissipates.
After a final battle, she safely makes her way back to the surface, with the silken god's reign finally ending.

Hit the cart and move it to the right until it's under the waterfall and use that to jump up into the hidden room.

I think out of all the relatively minor flaws in the game, shards are definitely the worst. You won't use them most of the time, but if you get stuck on a boss and spam tools to beat it, you have like 5 or so tries even with max pouch upgrades before you run out (more if you use tools that cost less). And farming shards feels absolutely horrible. There was just no need for them, tools already have a usage limit. The armount of rosaries you find from exploration and enemies should also be increased, and/or the amount shit takes to unlock decreased.

Is this game actually as hard as people say? Like no way it's THAT hard. HK was pretty easy for like 90% of it. This can't be that big of a jump.

I think the game has too much of a focus on tools. A lot of bugs refer to hornet as a higher being, but most of her dps comes from spamming tools, so she doesn't feel very godly. There should've been more silk skills that feel like spells.

The sneedolin quickly went from something I never use to the first tool I use when I'm stuck. There are a lot of lore tidbits in out of the way places.
There's two broken signs in and under Shellwood that suggest that Sister Splinter was previously put under the Weavers' influences to safeguard the passage of pilgrims.
If you play the sneedolin in front of the Choruses, they'll respond with "WE... ALL... TOGETHER..." and no other dialogue. Considering that Fourth Chorus's theme has choral vocals, the implication is that they're powered by many souls.
The seamstress sews to forget all the killing she's performed as a pinstress.

it's not really "hard" it's just unforgiving with the mechanics. the runbacks can be brutal, needing to pay currency to spawn save points/fast travel can be brutal, and needing to waste an equipment slot to even see yourself on the map is dumb.

I managed to get out of bound, using beast call at a spot in the Blasted land (on the run back to the last judge, the first platform you need to pass quickly where the annoying mosquito spawns).
Somehow in the animation of going into the ground, Hornet got hit by a worm, and there I was below the ground, could go left and right.
Maybe that'll be useful to someone (probably not)

For me, it's when you finally give up on actually buying shit with rosaries and just spend them all on shards. I think the economy in this game is a complete failure. I have 10 silkeaters but no longer even care about collecting my cocoon, I forget to do it constantly. There's no sense of "tension" or planning what to do with my rosaries any more. You're supposed to use the silkspeed anklets you get from the bottom right corner of far fields. Use the needolin to open the door and get them. They make you run very fast which you can further boost with flea brew if you have that to go omega hyper speed. Use this to get there quickly but also use the optimal route with the least amount of enemies. What's the optimal route? It's obviously very hard to describe so just test the path out without the package to see where you can skip a lot of the bullshit. If done properly you shouldn't engage with any enemies after leaving shellwood all the way until you get to coral chambers. If you don't get hit you'll have plenty of time to spare so no need to rush during difficult parts. Get the grapple and double jump before even attempting or it'll be noticably harder

How does music for enemy-lore even work?
I don't necessarily dislike it. Depending on how it actually works I might even like it.
But not really getting how it works is honestly kind of frustrating. I played through the entire game and I still don't feel confident in when and how I'll actually be able to snare an enemy with my music. Which is kind of unfortunate because I tend to eat shit and or die whenever I foolishly attempt to music for lore.
Also, not all enemies are actually susceptible to it, right? Like the bugs outside of pharloom seem to be immune, presumably because they have no silk within them and or simply have no developed minds, even relatively primitive ones? But it was the same for the heart bosses, right? Or was I just too shit at using the needolin? I could get the skarrsinger's crowd to sing, but not the actual soldiers or karmelita herself. Likewise with the coral soldiers and crust king. The forest seed doesn't even have ground to stand on unless you jump into the spikes for temporary ground to appear, but it didn't seem to work there either. Which would make lore accurate sense I guess.
But even for enemies and bosses that it does work on, it's difficult for me to judge when it'll actually work. Is there like some kind of invisible meter that slowly builds up whenever I play music within a certain range of enemies? But some are snared almost immediately while others seem to ignore me quite successfully before eventually succumbing if I'm, what it feels like, lucky. Because I really have no idea how to actually do it other than play and pray with my needolin.

For all the faults of the dreamnail, at least it was quite obvious and apparent when and how it worked.
If you successfully hit an enemy, it was a success and you'd get lore. Or if you wouldn't get lore then you could at least be confident in the dream nail not being effective.

Otherwise I do genuinely think that music for lore is really cool.

The Knight would only have not cared if it never interacted with ANYTHING in the entire game. However, every NPC shows it kindness and it does kind things in return. If it didn't care, it wouldn't have delivered the Everbloom to the gravesite in the Gardens. You can make a case that you can play the Knight as unfeeling for the bad end, just sealing the Radiance. However the point of the good ending is that the Knight does become a feeling being and so can bring the Void to unite for a purpose against something, instead of just randomly lashing out.
