Not tryna play your old ass unc game with shitty tank controls and bad graphics retard. All remakes are factually an improvement over the original, the sales and reviews always prove that. Old ass uncs who played their Boomer 64 all day instead of socializing with other kids outside don't get an opinion.

I think at the very least it's good to get to know the original first to get a feeling of how it was, regarding graphics, sounds, atmosphere, and vibes. It gives some insight about the reality of the game and the world when it first came.

It's kind of the same with movies, or adapted books/comics/novels. It's important for historical reasons.

Retarded faggot, this site is basically reddit v2, any opinion that isn't mainstream xonnot possible be anything other than bait. Name a game where the remake isn't better, worse sales, worse controls, worse graphics, name it, even one and I'll delete the original comment.

I always asumed that was the point. People who never played the original won't complain about changes

>Uhhh this gay ass franchise that has 120 games (not a joke by the way, it has 120 games and the majority of them are remakes) didn't do soo good on their 119th remake, take that zoom zoom
Another retarded GenX or Boomer, call it.

This is me with Resident Evil 2, I can't stand the fix camera

Well I mean remakes are also a means to sell the original. Like look at the new MGS3 remake, now that they sold that people will be inclined to buy that collection they just put out

Are there ANY examples where the remake is just objectively superior to the original and completely makes the original pointless?

Wrong.
REmake was literally the "NG++" made for the veteran fans of the series. If you skip the 1996 original, you not only skip the superior game with way more replay value, but also the big "whoa!" effect + mind games of the REmake.

And I say this as an Millennial boomer who adores REmake to high heavens, and still considers it as the ONLY well done, valid vidya re-make. The 2002 GC original only though.

That's me with Dead Space rn. Apparently they won't remake the sequels so I'll have to play the old ones.

This is fine for a lot of games though. The entire Final Fantasy series is like that. I feel like it's honestly less common for a series to have an ongoing story where you should play the first games before a sequel.
