>latest temporal upscaling methods got to the point where ghosting is minimal
>like 90% of AA and AAA are UE5 lumen trash
Anonymous No.720321621
This doesn't happen on my machine. Are you sure it's not framegen ghosting?

Most of engines do that. UE5 is just slightjy more noticeable.

This is not lumen smearing but just bog standard TAA smearing. We have been cursed with this shit since the ps4 and xbone. Dumb fucking retard.

No, not a single engine does that other than unreal trash, your image is litterally an effect added for a sprinting/dash animation

Lumen is basically TAA equivalent of lighting
Anonymous No.720322842
I don't know exactly what smearing is, but I tried to get the oblivion remaster to not look like the contrast was turned up too high, but I couldn't figure it out
Unfortunately the FO3 remaster will probably be just as ugly
Anonymous No.720322941

because it's processed in the TAA pass using the temporal data to accumulate data for lumen.

But with lumen developers wont have to put dev work into lighting saving the cost and passing the cost on to the consumer.

in unreal engine 4 you have screen space reflections which causes it in reflective surfaces. in unreal engine 5 the lighting (lumen) is also screen space in software mode so now you have not only in the water but everywhere.
