The post DT MSQ is weird. It's a complete retread and repeat of the themes and scenario of the Solution 9 section of the MSQ. But written by somebody who actually manages to not be a complete retard. However, it's also very truncated and so ends up feeling like a last minute attempt to band aid the MSQ.
They tried so hard to give Wuk an actual moment to shine where she selflessly pushes herself past her breaking point, the way the character should have been, but in actuality she just hits a wall with her axe and falls over. It feels like a forced emergency attempt, but I guess whoever did the writing at least tried their best.

Frontlines would be fine if all the rewards for playing them in achievements were not predicated upon farming wins. As it stands now, you are always at the mercy of whoever runs premades and are punished for playing solo, because not only are your chances of winning are much more slim, you're also fighting against people that already have all the rewards, so it turns into a situation where a bunch of well connected, well coordinated people are fighting hard to keep you from earning yours. They should have remade all the PvP achivement rewards into experience progression systems, similar to Series, so that people could make progress in them regardless of whether their team had taken the first or third place in a match.

A part of me wants to re-sub because I've been playing since ARR, but honestly MMOs eat so much time and I'm busy nowadays. Add in having to play Dawntrail's story and I immediately stop caring. My personal issue with FFXIV is that they never re-captured the exploration and world-building that ARR tried to do. You were way more incentivized to go throughout the world. You used to have to rent a chocobo in the early levels and you had your class quests that took you to different places to learn about things. The MSQ feels like it takes too much away from everything else. It's the double edged sword that sort of killed the game. It prevents new players from picking up the game and it killed off a lot of old players once they released a bad story. Quite frankly, the game has a lot of issues, even down to the engine. I think they need to seriously start working on a new MMO. After all the fuckups, I genuinely don't see how they can continue. They've sort of accumulated a lot of issues and even if they solve half of them next expac, I think it's just too much for me, and especially new players, to want to get invested.
