I still think that Sora/Kairi wouldn't be so boring and bland if Kairi had retained her KH1 personality.

Since Riku can apparently smell darkness in CoM for some reason, it stands to reason that since Kairi and Namine have no darkness in their hearts whatsoever, they wouldn't have any of that dark smell.
