it's a sequel, which means some things got added and changed, which means the community's opinions on the game are gonna vary wildly, far more than when it was just one game
Here I am five hours into Hollow Knight and I don't see what the big deal is. Music is fantastic, but the progression is 'eh, with lots of backtracking around large maps because all of the traversal upgrade checks are always on the sides of the maps (so far) for some fucking reason.
A game that can only be enjoyed if a certain amount of estrogen is coursing through your body. Have you ever heard of this game Hollow Knight Silksong? Estrogen-like.
The game's pacing is just worse compared the first game. This is due to the current drop rate of currency vs how much is needed for maps, benhces etc. Upgrades are more backloaded with the early game basically having the player feel like theyve not gotten any stronger. The moveset change is just straightoup worse due to the initial lack of pogo. The game also spams flying enemies which are cancerous to deal with in large volumes or when they have PHAT hitboxes. The customisation of builds is just worse with the new system having large less blended changes in builds where it does matter whilst also having more aspects that dont really seem to have much difference. The game is also more linear.
Its just not as enjoyable and nowhere near what I would imagine 6 years worth of work (or even 3 if they had other stuff to do like filling the wife up) compared to the build they showed in 2019. the delay also seem to have the game not blend together as well as the first game which exaserbates the pacing issues.

That slowdown and audio dampening whenever you get hit reminds me of Guilty Gear Strive COUNTER, COUNTER, COUNTER hits.
Holy fuck, that looks bad.

It's necessary for communicating clearly when the player got hit. You're wrong, it doesn't look bad it's clarity. Objectively you're wrong.

You played the first game didn't you? You had plenty of time to learn the mechanics and improve by the end of the game. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to be at least decent at Silksong.
>>720349610
Objectively, you're a retard, because almost every other game in existence does just fine without relying on extreme cues that essentially work like a pause button.

Yeah man, you know better than the hit indie devs of the year. I'm sure, you some fucking nobody knows better than Team Cherry. You go girl!
>>720349881 >hit indie devs of the year
I don't give a fuck, you fanboy retard. Video games provably work just fine without such annoying gimmicks. Go shove a Hollow funko pop up your ass, horns first.
>Spend millions of dollars getting retards to go >wen silk sung >game isn't as good as other game >only have fomo homos and painfully obvious advertisers
It got what it deserved
>give people 7 years to play HK >release a sequel that's expecting returning players to be famiilar with HK >bulk of complainers are just a bunch of fomo chasers that have never played HK and are mad Silksong has actual bite to it
Once all the fomofag filter out you'll see the same haters recycle the boring and bland complaints they pulled from their playbook for the past half a decade.

Surprisingly good game you didn't expect (Hollow Knight) versus the sequel with raised expectations that can't possibly surprise you again (Silksong)
>>720351446
Given the bulk of complaints are either indicators of not enough playtime (ie lack of rosaries and tools) or genuine skill issues (being dogshit at platforming or fighting enemis) I really don't believe that to be the case. You can go through steam reviews and see several people claiming to beat P5 but claim this game is somehow hard like they aren't lying through their teeth.
>>720349881 >it sold well so that means the game is perfect and nobody can criticize it!
Really pathetic dude. It's objectively true that HK's movement, camera behavior and hit cues are fucking awful. That's not even up for debate.

It lives up to Hollow Knight, but it's lacking polish in specifically the areas that most importantly hold everything together, which mostly means Rosary/Shard economy, bench placement, upgrades frequency and other similar stuff. Combat, traversal, map design and everything else is fun, one nail upgrade and tons of sidequests with middling rewards are not.
