Pretty much. Lost Lace, when she's at her best, is easily the best fight in the game, but she has things that hold her back from consistently getting to that point. The three big issues I found with the fight are:

1.
>There's no reasonable way to distinguish between her three slash combo and her jumping buzzsaw attack when she's at neutral
2.
>Almost everything in the fight is some shade of black, which makes it really unintuitive to understand what's going on, especially when she starts layering multiple void attacks on top of one another
3.
>Lace can teleport into the place you're moving towards, which is completely unreactable

If you're struggling with that now, I suggest you drop the game. The game makes extensive use of "pogo-ing to get to places" mechanic. It'll even occasionally throw in hazards in the way to fuck with you.

The thing about the dice is that they're basically free. You don't need magnet or compass for boss fights so might as well use dice. The only other yellow slot tool that's any good for boss fights is Ascendant's Grip which you'll want for exactly ONE (1) fight in Act 3. And maybe Speedy Anklets.

If Hollow Knight world had entirely different aesthetics to "DOOMED KINGDOMS" I'd think adult ghost surfacing from the void to find either Hollow or Hornet and making his way through a kingdom that wasn't completely fucked inside and out would be a kino scenario. Story beats would probably be learning more about void. Power progression would just be learning to control shade lord powers.
That or just playing as the Hollow Knight would be cool. Though idk how TC would have HK gameplay for bigger characters, Nine Sols, HK, SS, and other metroidvanias like them have small characters and cramped areas so idk how HK or an Adult Ghost would really work.

It's mostly great, the maggot water is a great mechanic and I think most of the platforming is tough but fair. But some of the enemy placement is dogshit. I genuinely don't get what people's problem with this boss is. It's like one of the most simplest fights in Silksong and Hollow Knight combined.

It's pretty much (godhome)Vengefly King tier. Only made ever so slightly more complicated by the sinking platforms and the flying adds being able to shoot stuff. But with how strong your movement options kind of more than makes up for it.

The Beastfly really only has two moves. It'll tackle you horizontally thrice. Which you can just pogo or jump over. Then it does the vertical ground pounds, which is just a prime opportunity to strike back since it leaves itself completely vulnerable both when it's hitting the ground and suspending itself in the air before crashing down.
And the adds are honestly just free-silk meaning that you'll never have to worry about not being able to heal.
