Even then, most kids still do it for confort. My wife struggled to produce enough for our first son so we occasionally supplemented with formula. She produced even less for our second so he basically just had formula, but he still breastfeeds daily for comfort. He's a year and a half so I'm not sure he gets any milk.

I get that, but I've seen segments on 60 Minutes about mothers who breastfeed their kids even though they're like 5. It's a bit strange to still be doing that at a point where the kid can remember it for the rest of their life.
