Rogue is such a piece of shit sometimes that she has to be retconned into being mind controlled for her most evil actions but even without those she's a massive bitch. Women writers do the women thing and just let rogue get away with it to vicariously live their BPDemon fantasies while pretending that Remy is some gigantic, childish manwhore. Its a disservice to both characters. Male writers are capable of actually recognizing that Gambit is an emotional, hurt man who's put up the airs of a playboy to disguise who he really is, that he's in reality slept with only like 2 people, that he wants nothing more than to settle down and start a family, and that he's the 2nd or 3rd most competent leader the x-men have after Scott.
Gambit explicitly said to Rogue that if they got married he wants to have kids with her and she agreed until they actually got hitched and then she pulled an "erm actually i don't want to settle down yet i want my entire life to keep being x-men shit" and even then he still stuck with her despite his obvious disappointment.
