I had an idea for an X-com style Mega Man game where you can have a squad of Robot Masters with Mega Man.

Hero of the 2D sprite age that not only avoided most of the shit, but came out of retirement to style on them with 9 and 10.

pretty cool all things considered
it's a shame the series is confined to merchandise/collaboration hell but realistically it's probably the best outcome overall
i do think it'd be neat for them to let an indie dev team do something novel with it at least, kinda like the necrodancer devs did with zelda. might seem odd but i'd kill to see something like a tactics game or a dungeon crawler in the classic series specifically

Memorizing is part of learning, but learning isn't just about memorizing; that only makes sense if we were robots. Mega Man forces me to memorize platforms, enemy spawns, boss attack order, etc. All of these things always happen in the same way, in the same order, as if I were a robot. I don't like that.
