I don't think the Hardsuit Labs version was faithful to the original at all
I've seen all the trailers and could only feel disgust, even though the RPG was definitely there. But something was deeply wrong with the art direction, atmosphere and characters.
This one by the chinese on the other hand feels...less vomit inducing? Aside from some shit assets like the unisex clothes which are clearly a remnant from the Hardsuit version, there's nothing offensive about it. The downside is it's gonna be an action game with barely any RPG elements. Worse, a substanceless nostalgia grab with a VTMB coat to lure fags.
What I do not understand is why this game needs to be "faithful" to Bloodlines in the first place. It's a different setting, a different story, and is going to be released in a very different time than the early 2000s.
They never should have tried catching B1's soul because they simply can't do so. It is a product of its time, coming from the lives of the devs involved with it. I guess modern devs have no lives or culture so they need to copy?
Vampires are many things and themes in World of Darkness, it's not just Bloodlines lol.
VTMB2 should have been VTMB if done today. It should have talked about war and genocide. The ubiquity of social media and the pandemic madness. The absolute hilarity of kine and kindred istitutions. And the absolute horror of living among all this paranoia and ever-increasing control. But they have no balls to make a game that shits on everyone like VTMB. Not even GTA and Postal do that anymore.
