I'll admit, I enjoyed the remake more than I thought I would.
First for the bad. The game is just terribly optimized! For comparison, on my 7900 XTX, I was able to get 130+ FPS in RE4R maxed out (native) but in SH2R, I could barely reach 60 FPS (with FSR 3.1 enabled) in some parts of the game. To make matters worse, the stuttering is really annoying and breaks immersion at times.
There are also too many enemies! I would have preferred having slightly tougher monsters with a bit less encounters. Also, the designs for Maria and Angela are off (due to SBI involvement) but nothing a couple of mods can't fix. James, Eddie and Laura are fine for the most part.
Now for the good. Aside from a few questionable choices, I thought the graphics, level designs and atmosphere were really good. Many of character interactions, dialogue and performances are much more believable than the original. After having just replayed the enhanced edition of the original (in hard), I can attest that the remake is much more challenging and nerve-racking. The mannequins got me more times than I'll like to admit!
As much as people here want to hate on it, I believe Blooper showed that they cared about the original and tried to remake it as best as they could (or were allowed to). While not perfect (the original is still better in some things), I thought they did a decent job and I'm glad I gave it a chance.
