You'd never be able to tell from screenshots & promotional material, due to how fucking cute it is, but trust me. It's Chulip: Cute Version. If you've played Chulip, you'll instantly pick up on all the insane parallels. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few common names in the credit rolls.

Zombie Smashers X2
The game is a beat em up where you fight not only zombies but also all kinds of wacky stuff like, vampires, gang members, demons, mummies, a manlet and a SS officer
It has lots of side-quests where you get from just money, to special techniques
It also has RPG like mechanics where you eat food to increase your stats and as you get stronger it really feels like it, it's very satisfying to go back to a low level zone and launch zombies flying backwards from a kick or rip out their arms and heads from a simple punch.
The enemies also become damage sponges later on but it's still really enjoyable due to how fast paced things can get like riping out a boss's spine and beating him to death with it
Finally the OST is 10/10 for me even if the songs aren't that great because it's composed of rock songs and i remember getting really hype when i got on a new zone and fought enemies with songs like this in the background

Chulip exists in a subgenre of games I would call "player-hostile." This game fucking hates you and hates that you have the GALL to try and beat it. It will throw arbitrary bullshit at you to cause you suffering and wasted time, and the only rewards you may gleam are further progress into this hell-game. But, for me, I found the desire to succeed persisting nonetheless. I wanted my damn schoolgirl GF and I would reload as many times as I have to for my RNG eggplant.

It's a "Moon"-like. Goal is to complete tasks for people, however, you need to have a certain level of health/stat or an item to accomplish this. You start on easy targets and work your way up to harder targets. You can get game-over'd easily if you do things wrong or out of order. It's like an adventure game with heavy trial and error.
