No one wants it. The """mainstream""" speedrunning social circles are basically pure twitter cancer.
All of them are losers who sit around all day waiting for a crumb of drama, and then spending several days stirring the pot pretending they have a horse in the race at all. All of the shittiest people gravitate towards GDQ and frankly it needs to stay that way. The more they think GDQ is the ONLY thing around, the better it is for all the other events. But even then the pozz is slowly spreading.
But GDQ in it's current state is tumblr before they banned porn. If GDQ goes down, it means certain degenerate death for everything else and no one will ever fucking socalize again outside small cliques that are incredibly private.
